Admission and Enrolment Overview

ONLY WALK IN APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR 2025

Applications start from 2024-05-09 until 2024-08-30 from 07:30 until 13:00.

All enrolments are done strictly in accordance with the school’s Admission Policy.

No enrolment enquiry will be considered without all the recently (no less than three months old) CERTIFIED COPIES of the following:

LEGAL GUARDIANS need to provide a certified copy of any Court Order or testamentary document confirming guardianship or custody of the child. 

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

1. The RCS Admission Policy will be strictly adhered to when we determine placement or not of a child. That means that we do not do favours or allow special dispensation for people because we do not believe one person is more important than another.  Everyone has their own reasons for wanting their child admitted and no reason given is better or worse than the next.
2. Anyone who provides us with false information / documents disqualifies his/her child from being considered for 2025 or future years.  We hire a private detective to check information provided.
3. The language of Learning and Teaching at RCS is English and parents completing forms will be required to rate their child’s ability in the language on a scale of 1 – 5 with 5 being very proficient and 1 being not able to communicate or understand the language. This rating must be done. As this is an English school children fluent in the language will be given preference.
4. If you have not heard from us telephonically or via email by 30^th September  2024, your application was unsuccessful.
5. Limited enrolment enquiries are accepted in Grade R and RR but placement is not guaranteed as we have many applications submitted and the Pre-School (Gr RR and R) can only accommodate 150 children.
6. Please be advised that in 2025 the vast majority of children already enrolled at the school will move up to the next grade.  That means we WILL NOT be enrolling any NEW children from Grade 1 – 7 as these classes are already over-subscribed. So unless one of our already enrolled children leaves our school we do not have space in these grades.
7. Parents making application for a child for Grades 1 – 7 do so knowing that the chance of that child getting placement for 2025 is slim and therefore application at other schools is necessary.  A list of other schools is provided to EVERY APPLICANT. Please do not remove your child from any school unless ACCEPTANCE AT RCS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.
8. Children of immigrant parents will not be admitted without an official resident permit, proof of work permit and a legal study permit for the child.
9. Any queries relating to admissions for 2025 can be directed to the SGB Chairperson in writing.

Copies of RECENTLY CERTIFIED DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED to the enrolment enquiry form in order for it to be processed.
